News at Satisprime Media indicates that Rt. Hon. Saleh shehu Yipmong, member representing Dengi constituency at the State House of Assembly and member of House committee on education has expressed unflinching readiness to strengthen legislation and initiatives in order to open access to quality education in his constituency and Plateau state at large. He said this during a training workshop for members of education committee of state houses of assembly across the country at hawthorn suites Garki abuja organized by UNICEF.
The theme of the workshop is “Basic Education, Legislation and oversight functioning.” It is aimed at enlightening lawmakers on the need to create laws that will enhance quality education which can be affordable to all and sundry in the society.
Rt. Hon. Yipmong while responding to newsmen says that ”a society will thrive economically if the people are soundly educated. He added that education is the bedrock of every peaceful society and so, I will do my best in creating/supporting laws that will enhance education in plateau state and also support the less privilege in my constituency to get educated”.
The Dengi lawmaker appreciated UNICEF for the workshop, saying it is timely because this is the right time to eradicate poverty and illiteracy in the society.
