The member representating Pankshin North Constituency in the Plateau state House of Assembly Hon. Philip Dasun Peter has condemned in the strongest possible terms the gruesome killing of a Plateau youth Rinji Bala Peter by security operatives in Jos for allegedly defaulting lock down order. According to the STF spokesperson in a press release, Rinji’s death was highly regrettable. This came after widespread condemnation all over the media space.
Apparantly disturbed by the killing of Rinji Bala, Hon. Dasun’s media team released a press statement condemning the reckless behaviour of the trigger happy security operative and calls for justice.
“I Hon. Philip Dasun received the news of Rinji Bala’s death by security operatives with rude shock. He was a young and hardworking student determined to achieve his educational goals as a student of History and International Studies University of Jos but unfortunately his life was cut short. That was a an action taken too far. I totally condemn such recklessness and join countless others in demanding for justice. In the same vein, I convey my condolences to his immediate family, the Ngas Nation, University of Jos and the state at large. I also appeal to the good people of Plateau state to remain calm while thorough investigation is carried out. As leaders elected by the people, we must take responsibility and stand by them through thick and thin.” The statement reads in part.
Hon. Dasun also calls on the security operatives to always apply caution and professionalism while discharging their duties in order to avoid future catastrophies.
