Democracy Day: Alfred Dapal Sues for Peace, Calls for Sustenance of Democracy

June 12th yearly is celebrated as democracy Day throughout Nigeria. It is a day set aside to commemorate the swearing in of political leaders into office elected by the masses. It comes with its pros and cons.
In this spirit, Prince Alfred Dapal has joined millions nationwide to felicitate with President Buhari, Governor Simon Bako Lalong, the good people of Plateau State and indeed all Nigerians on the auspicious occasion of Democracy day.
In a press statement made available to journalists, Mr. Dapal said it was a remarkable day and turning point in the history of Nigeria’s democracy

“It is because, there are opportunities for people to choose and decide the direction of political affairs as they affect them primarily and also to shape public opinion in a free and media-friendly society.”_

He further calls on the good people of Plateau State and Nigerians to continue to play significant roles in helping the state and Nigeria achieve sustainable development.
The statement reads in part…

“It is a great pleasure for me to congratulate President Buhari, Gov. Simon Bako Lalong and indeed all Nigerians on the occasion of Democracy Day. While we celebrate this day albeit on low-key because of Covid-19, we must remember our fallen heroes who made incredible sacrifices to sustain our democracy. The pursuit of peace and sustainable development must be our priority as patriotic citizens. Let us never allow our true sense of patriotism to be weakened because of the prevalence of uprisings, Covid-19 and other challenges. There is hope for Nigeria. Congratulations.
