fresh attacks in Southern Kaduna, 8 killed, 16 hospitalized

News at Satisprime Reporter’s news desk obtained from Stefanos Foundation indicates that there has been a series of attacks by Militant herdsmen in Southern Kaduna from Sunday, 19th July 2020 till today, 21st July, 2020.

In just 3 days, gruesome attacks have left several dead, many gravely injured, others missing and many more displaced.

After the militants herdsmen attack of Sunday, 17th July 2020 on Kukum Daji viilage in Kauru Local Government area of Kaduna State, which left over 18 people dead and several injured, there has reportedly been another attack on Gora Gan community of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna.

According to our sources, on Monday, 20th July 2020, at about 2PM militant herdsmen came en masse into the community, heavily armed with sophisticated weapons and started shooting at people unprovoked.

Currently, about 8 people have been confirmed dead and 16 persons are on admission in Zonkwa general hospital. 10 people have also been recorded missing and several houses burnt down.

Our source further stated that the attackers advanced on to Butu, a neighboring village and launched another attack about 9AM on Tuesday, 21st July, 2020.

According to him, as at the time of filing this report, the village is still under attack. It is not possible to ascertain the total number of people dead or injured but about 8 deaths have so far been confirmed.

Stefanos Foundation calls on Christians to continue to pray for the people under attack. We further call on the government to look into lasting solution to this seemingly unending carnage.

The foundation sympathizes with the bereaved and pray that the souls of the departed find rest with our Lord.
